King Wai Group CEO Antonio Chan wins Master Entrepreneur Award from the prestigious Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2020

Bangkok - Mr. Antonio Chan, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of King Wai Group (Thailand) PLC, has been selected as the winner in the Master Entrepreneur category under Property Development Industry of the prestigious Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2020, Regional Edition. He has successfully transformed KWG from a regional company into a global conglomerate with businesses spanning across the financial and property sectors.  The award ceremony was held virtually online on November 20, 2020. This year, there are 7 leading companies in Thailand have won the awards in various fields.
King Wai Group is one of the leading conglomerates, China’s well-known and most prolific property developers, with a successful corporate history of more than 30 years. Among them is the mixed-use mega-project King Wai City Oasis in Shanghai, Antonio saw a different opportunity in elevating property development to a new level through adapting environmental-friendly initiatives. And the adventure paid off. Not only the slump of land became the Group’s flagship real estate mega-project in China, it also won KWG the first China Low Carbon Building Award through the eco-innovation.
Then, Antonio expanded King Wai Group business beyond China. He started a local KWG real estate business in Thailand which was subsequently listed on the Thai stock exchange in 2016. The company operates both housing and condominium projects development in Bangkok, as well as two mega mixed-use projects in Chachoengsao and Ayutthaya provinces.  In 2018, Antonio founded King Wai Insurance Public Company Limited, offering insurance coverage and professional risk management services.
“King Wai Group is eyeing long-term investments in Thailand by bringing the experience and expertise in conglomerate business to create a business ecosystem here,” Antonio said. “In order to remain competitive, we’re orchestrating transformation and innovation in the company’s development as new challenges require new approaches. We also focus more on the customer-centric approach to refine the products and transformation beyond the traditional business.”
Antonio also sets his sight on education as it is the important aspect of future developments. Recently, KWG has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on education with Repton International Schools Ltd, Derby, UK to establish an international school in Thailand to nurture talents with a global vision and international networks. He also set up a scholarships fund for Thai students to further study in the universities in Hong Kong since 2017.
